The Bible is the oldest
book, and is in fact better viewed as a collection of books. It was written over a
period of thousands of years, by many different writers. Yet all the writers are
in harmony over the message given and claim that they wrote down the word of God.
The Bible has been translated into many different languages and is still a
best seller, yet it remains neglected by the majority of people and sadly by
so many Christians as well. |

- "...you have known the Holy
Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith
which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God,
and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness" 2 Tim 3:15-16
- "..no prophecy of Scripture is
of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of
man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit."
2Peter 1:20-21

Why do those who claim
to be Christian neglect the word of God? Well, many Christians have gone far
away from Bible teaching, saying that the Bible is irrelevant to the modern
world and old fashioned. But in doing so, they turn away from the solid
foundation Christianity was built upon, turning instead to the shifting
sands of man made ideas and philosophies.

Many
thoughtful Christians are
now realising how little they know about the Bible and recognising the need for
sound spiritual guidance.
So what is the solution? Well it is a case of back to basics - Bible Basics. The aim of these pages is to do just
that, turn back to the Bible to help Christians get an insight into the
most valuable book in the world. By doing so we can re-discover the
wonderful message contained in God's word, establishing a firm foundation
for personal faith. Our aim is to show how the Bible came to us, offer hints on how
to study the Bible and help you learn more about the book of life. |
